WWE Money In The Bank 2020 Predictions

WWE Money In The Bank 2020 - Predictions Time

So this Sunday is WWE's 2020 edition of Money In The Bank, or should I say Money on the roof, or Titan Towers Theft, but whatever. This is actually shaping up to be an interesting show with some interesting matches, and some matches that are not interesting in particular. So let's dive in, with predictions time

Drew Mcintyre (C) vs Seth Rollins
WWE Championship Match

Let's kickoff with the WWE Championship contest between Mcintyre and Rollins. I actually think WWE really nailed this feud, and Rollins has been on one heck of a run since WrestleMania

I do think that this feud should have been kept for further down the line though. Like Rollins vs Styles at last year's MITB, they wanted to have a good world title match at the PPV, but just took a feud that could have been booked for a Summer Slam semi-main or even main event, and just threw it too quickly. If I was booking this I would have given Andrade the shot. Mcintyre's dominance over Zelina Vega's guys could have began a nice feud that would have escaltaed at MITB. Since Andrade is not in the MITB ladder match (even though I believe he should be the one winning it), he would have been a perfect fit

Nontheless, I think this match will be great, and the question here is whether or not Murphy is going to accidentally cost Rollins the match, My gut feeling says he is going to, and hopefully this will lead to a triple threat match between Mcintyre vs Rollins vs Murphy at the next PPV.
No matter what though there is absolutley no way Mcintyre is droping that belt this quickly. I think we are going to see him with that belt for a long time, possibly until ***** (spoilers) cashes in his , MITB contract on him down the line, or maybe way after that contract has already been cashed in on the Universal Champion

Prediction: Drew Mcintyre retains

Braun Strowman (C) vs Bray Wyatt
WWE Universal Championship Match

So this is a really logical progression from the horrible Universal title WM scene that the global situation resulted in. Braun Strowman should have been Universal Champion in 2017, and has no business holding that title in 2020. I know it can annoy a lot of people but when Reigns was out of Mania, I was actually in favour of giving King Corbin the title - as a despicible heel in a lot better than a dull babyface

The question in my mind here is whether WWE are going to stick with Braun, or they are going to return to having Wyatt holding the belt. I do think Wyatt/The Fiend is in a Tweener kind position so he can have both heel and face opponents right now and it will work. No matter who wins this feud, I think his next challengers are Sheamus and Jeff Hardy. And actually I think Fiend vs Sheamus and Fiend vs Hardy can be great feuds. Also Strowman is kind of boring to me and we all know he is a transitional champion

But even with all that, this is Bray Wyatt not The Fiend. And I think we are going to  have Bray win the title here, he is much better than The Fiend any godamn way, so lets just run with it. Strowman will be hurt by the loss, but Wyatt will be destroyed
A rematch will happen down the line that's for sure, maybe even at the Wyatt Compund

Prediction: Bray Wyatt becomes a 2 Time Universal Champion

Bayley (C) vs Tamina
WWE SmackDown Women's Championshop

Well that will not be elaborated in great depth as I really don't care about this feud. I don't understand what WWE's women's division is going through on the SmackDown side. If they are not willing to give us Banks vs Bayley without an audience, which is fair by me, just give us someother meaningful challenger. If it were up to me I would have actually given Dana Brooke the shot here. She is a likeable babyface, which will actually give Bayley heel heat here. Again like Vince says this is the "reactions buisness' - even from home, and this is getting zero reaction

Bayley retains here for sure, the question is whether Banks almost costs her the match, and I think that won't happen. We will see Banks on the outside, but I think we need to give a dominant clean win here, at least I hope so

Predictions: Bayley retains

The New Day (C) vs Miz and Morrison vs The Forgotten Sons vs The Lucha House Party
WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships

Nice one here. How the hell The Lucha House Party already got 2 tag title PPV matches this year is beyond my understanding. But it really opens up the possibilities here. Sadly Jimmy Uso is injured so the Usos vs New Day feud that WWE looked set to book is off the table

Miz and Morrison are great but it would be meaningless if they won the titles back here and I think, or at least hope that we are going to go with a new "SmackDown Six' like we have had 2 decades ago, but actually in the Intercontinental Title picture - with Bryan & Gulak, Zayn & Nakamura (and Cesaro) , and joining them would be Miz and Morrison. We will have great matches all over the place with those guys, and I think The Dirt Sheets are soon leaving the tag title division

Which brings me to The Forgotten Sons. I think they are great, but I also think this environment allows them to still chase the tag titles. I would have New Day pin a member of LHP, after The Forgotten Sons already had a 3 count on them during a ref bump. Then after the match I would have Forgotten Sons beat down New Day, only to have Xavier Woods return from injury to save his guys. Then down the line we have a 3 on 3 feud between Forgotten Sons and New Day, which could lead either way. No matter what the team that wins this feud goes on to feud with Heavy Machinery heading into Summer Slam

Prediction: New Day retains

Some Notes

Before we speak about the dual main event, I must say that this PPV feels a little weird. Like we have lots of matches that should have happened here but happened on TV - I think we should have gotten Street Profits vs Viking Raiders and Sonya Deville and Dolph Ziggler vs Mandy Rose and Otis here at the very least. maybe even Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross vs Dana Brooke and Carmella, which would have opened the possibility of Sasha Banks and Naomi in the MITB ladder match which would have been much better.

But let's continue

Men's and Women's Titan Towers, sort of Ladder Match, Super Clash 2020
AJ Styles vs Aleistar Black vs Otis vs Rey Mysterio vs Daniel Bryan vs King Corbin
Shayna Basizler vs Nia Jax vs Asuka vs Dana Brooke vs Carmella vs Lacey Evans

I think this has many compelling elements in it, even with my elaborated title. WWE has done a nice job giving up some interesting options in this one. And yeah I would have taken out Brooke and Carmella for Naomi and Banks in the Women's match. And yeah I would have taken out Otis and Mysterio for Cesaro/Nakamura/Zayn on the SD side and for Andrade on the Raw side, but even with those missteps in my opinion this is going to be excellent

Let's begin with the Women's side. I think we should all focus on the Raw side of things for two reasons - It is much more stacked than the SD side, and the fact that Becky Lynch is going to confront the winner of this match. I don't think this is going to be Asuka, even though she is going to be a great briefcase holder. For some reason I think WWE are going to have Lynch interfere in this match costing Basizler the match, as I don't see her character fitting of holding a briefcase, just like we had the disasterous briefcase win of Braun Strowman in 2018. That leaves me with the obvious character that needs this win that will make a ton of storyline sense which is Nia Jax. Jax vs Lynch is a feud that WWE kept on their back burner ever since Jax injured Lynch a year and a half ago, and actually kind of made her main event by extinction. Jax is a talented wrestler who needs this win, Basizler doesn't need it, unless you want her to go to SmackDown. I think WWE sees Jax vs Lynch as a money match, but also I think they will see Jax vs Basizler as a money match. Jax should hold the briefcase for the longest time holding it over Lynch and Basizler as they feud. We have Basizler win the title somewhere soon, and then Lynch tries in underdog fashion to capture it back, and finally after a couple of months of chasing, she wins it, only to be cashed in on by Nia Jax - hopefully in front of fans, and the reaction would be nuclear. This will be great, so Nia wins this for me by a landslide

In the Men's side of things I can actually see four viable winners, sorry Otis and sorry Rey. Daniel Bryan can win this, but I just doesn't think he needs this win here. Corbin can be a great briefcase holder, but with Jax winning the Women's match, I think doubling down on this is too much. Also I don't want to see him defeat either Strowman, and obviously not Wyatt or Mcintyre. Then we go down to the final 2 who are Aleistar Black and AJ Styles, and each has a case why they should win. Aleistar Black is being heavily pushed for the last year. Also no matter if it is a face vs face hard hitting battle with Mcintyre or a spooky psycho feud with Wyatt, I would like to see those please. The only thing that is weird for me is that I don't think the briefcase fits his gimmick, and actually I see him getting those chances, and maybe even becoming world champion this year without them. AJ on the other hand is flipping AJ Styles, he can get into a world title match much more easily then Black, even though it is a logical progression for his character after WrestleMania. I do think we will have Styles and Black resume their pre-WrestleMania feud soon enough with one of them holding the briefcase. So my idea is that AJ Styles wins this as this briefcase fits his character much more, but down the line Black convinces Styles to put the briefcase up for grabs in a Ladder match with him - maybe at summer slam, and this is where he takes the briefcase from him. This sends Styles into a fanatic mode, which will hopefully help him to climb up the ladder and win the 2021 Royal Rumble in order to face Drew Mcintyre for the WWE Championship. Black will then cash the briefcase on The Fiend or Bray Wyatt on the same night at Summer Slam to begin this new feud. This scenario works for everyone I think - this gives the briefcase to the person who's character fits it the most, it give a great feud between two great wrestlers, helps build a new creidlbe main eventer in Aleistar Black and it has the briefcase far away from Mcintyre's world title run which should be long in order to establish him as a credible main eventer

Predictions: AJ Styles and Nia Jax win the briefcases, but Aleistar Black will eventually get the title match

So that's it hope you've enjoyed this predictions time, put your comments down below and hopefully I will not look like an idiot when this show is over
